San Luis Valley Federal Bank is the banking entity of Colorado Mutual Holding Company, Alamosa, Colorado, a federally chartered Mutual Holding Company (MHC). The MHC was formed after the bank’s depositor members approved a plan of reorganization in 2019. The MHC structure provides opportunities to raise additional capital and pursue growth strategies that were not previously available. The bank is committed to the success of its depositor members by providing the latest banking products and services, and providing educational resources and member benefits. As a mutual banking company, the deposit account holders are voting members of the MHC and have voting rights at the MHC’s annual meeting. An equal opportunity employer, the bank has 62 full-time employees and 3 convenient offices, 2 in Alamosa and 1 office in Monte Vista, Colorado. The bank has been providing financial services to residents of Colorado’s San Luis Valley since 1899. Deposits are presently accepted only from residents of the San Luis Valley and loan services are offered only in the six counties of the San Luis Valley. The bank has maintained a very strong financial profile for many years. As of December 31, 2023, the bank’s capital-to-asset ratio was 16.01%, far in excess of regulatory requirements as shown below:
